Pep Guardiola Reaches 250 Premier League Wins: A Historic Milestone in Record Time

Manchester City’s 1-0 win over Brentford wasn’t just another three points — it marked a historic milestone for Pep Guardiola. The Catalan boss has now secured 250 Premier League victories with a single club, joining an elite group that includes Sir Alex Ferguson and Arsène Wenger.

“It’s an honour to be alongside Sir Alex Ferguson and Arsene Wenger. I will invite them to a good dinner,” Guardiola said after the match. “It’s a pleasure to be part of that in Premier League history. Now let’s go for 250 more.”

Fastest to the Landmark

What makes Guardiola’s achievement even more remarkable is the speed at which he reached the milestone:

  • Guardiola: 349 games

  • Ferguson: 404 games

  • Wenger: 424 games

In other words, he got there 55 games quicker than Ferguson. Only David Moyes has also reached 250 wins in the Premier League era, though across multiple clubs, not with a single side.

A Decade of Dominance

Since arriving at Manchester City in 2016, Guardiola has rewritten English football’s standards. His honours so far:

  • 6 Premier League titles

  • 1 Champions League

  • 2 FA Cups

  • 4 League Cups

Notably, he guided City to a historic Treble in 2023, becoming only the second team in English football history to win the Premier League, Champions League, and FA Cup in the same season.

Records Along the Way

Several milestones have defined Guardiola’s reign:

  • First Premier League team to hit 100 points (2017–18 season).

  • Only club to win four Premier League titles in a row.

  • Averaged 28 wins per season across his nine full campaigns.

  • More than 90 points in four different seasons — a standard almost unheard of before his arrival.

City under Guardiola have scored 842 goals and conceded just 299 in his 349 Premier League matches, with a staggering 71.6% win rate — the best in league history.

More Than Just Wins

Former City defender Micah Richards summed it up best:

“When we talk about Guardiola it’s not just the wins, it’s how they’ve won, how he’s changed football. A lot of people said his tiki-taka wouldn’t work here, but ever since that first season, they’ve taken the game to new heights.”

Indeed, Guardiola has not only delivered silverware, he has reshaped English football, pushing tactical innovation and setting a benchmark for consistency.

What’s Next?

Although Guardiola has signed a contract until 2027, his long-term future remains a subject of speculation. But regardless of how much longer he stays, his impact is already etched into Premier League history.

From transforming Manchester City into a domestic powerhouse to redefining tactical excellence, Pep Guardiola’s 250th win is not just a milestone — it’s a legacy in motion.
