Bayern Munich Set To Make Nicolas Jackson Loan Permanent After Chelsea Exit
Chelsea striker Nicolas Jackson could be staying in Germany longer than expected after reports in BILD revealed that Bayern Munich have reached an informal agreement with the Senegal international over a five-year contract.
From Loan To Long-Term Stay
Jackson only joined Bayern on deadline day of the summer transfer window, following Chelsea’s squad reshuffle and the need to cover Liam Delap’s injury. Despite the late move, the 24-year-old has made an immediate impression, recording three appearances including a standout start in the 4-1 win over Hoffenheim.
Bayern’s Change Of Heart
Initially, Bayern president Uli Hoeness dismissed talk of a permanent deal, but the striker’s early form has prompted a U-turn. His loan includes a €65 million purchase clause, triggered by 40 starts, though reports suggest Bayern will seek to renegotiate terms with Chelsea instead of activating the full clause.
Chelsea’s Position
For Chelsea, Jackson’s potential departure could provide an opportunity to cash in on a player considered surplus to requirements following their attacking rebuild. The Senegalese forward remains contracted to Stamford Bridge until 2033, meaning negotiations will depend heavily on Chelsea’s valuation.
What Next?
While no formal approach has yet been made to Chelsea, Bayern appear to be moving quickly to tie down Jackson’s commitment and prevent rival clubs from joining the race. The Bundesliga champions believe his development fits their long-term plans, making a permanent move increasingly likely.
