“No Big Deal” – Alonso Dismisses Talk Of Tension With Vinicius Jr
Bayer Leverkusen manager Xabi Alonso has played down suggestions of tension between himself and Real Madrid forward Vinicius Jr, insisting there is no problem between the pair.
Recent reports had hinted at a possible rift after an on-field exchange during Spain’s international camp, but Alonso was quick to dismiss the claims when asked about it by reporters.
Alonso Clears The Air
The former Real Madrid midfielder, who has been linked with a future move to manage Los Blancos, stressed that such situations are often exaggerated by the media.
“I don’t make a big deal of it,” Alonso said. “Vinicius is an exceptional talent, one of the best in the world right now. Sometimes emotions run high in football, but there’s no issue between us. I respect him a lot.”
Vinicius Key For Madrid
Vinicius Jr has continued to shine for Real Madrid, playing a vital role in their unbeaten run this season. His explosive pace and creativity have made him one of the most decisive forwards in world football, and Alonso acknowledged that.
“Madrid are lucky to have him,” Alonso added. “He’s a player who can change games at any moment, and I admire his competitiveness.”
Future Links To Real Madrid
With Carlo Ancelotti’s future at Real Madrid often under scrutiny, Alonso’s name frequently surfaces as a potential successor. His relationship with players like Vinicius could be key if he were to return to the Santiago Bernabeu in a managerial role.
For now, though, Alonso is focused on his job at Leverkusen, where he has been widely praised for transforming the German side into a formidable force both domestically and in Europe.
