Players, Stakeholders Laud NBBF On Successful Women’s Basketball League
It was an exciting and electrifying atmosphere at the finals of the 2025 NBBF/Zenith Bank Women’s Basketball Premier league, held inside the beautiful ambience of the sports hall of the National Stadium, Surulere, Lagos.
The final 8 of the championship that lasted five days, threw up shocks, dramas and untold high-quality basketball games from the first jump ball and it culminated into a keenly contested championship match between nine-time winners First Bank and high-riding Dolphins, who went on to reaffirm their determination to claim the title, with a 61-55 victory.
Speaking during the well-attended final game, an obviously elated President of the Nigeria Basketball Federation, Engineer (Dr). Ahmadu Musa Kida expressed his happiness on the success of the near-flawless championship, even as he appreciated the continued support of Zenith Bank, who have been sponsors of the women’s premier basketball league for over 18 years.

Chairman of the National Sports Commission, Mallam Shehu Dikko, who watched the exciting games congratulated the NBBF for a successful championship, while noting the agelong supports of Zenith Bank, which he added has contributed to the development of the game in Nigeria.
Players and officials were in unison as they praised the organisers, NBBF and the sponsors, Zenith Bank, for providing the platform for them to thrive and express their talents.
