Arsenal Sweat On Noni Madueke Fitness After Knee Injury Against Manchester City
Arsenal are anxiously awaiting news on Noni Madueke’s knee injury, after the winger was forced off during Sunday’s 1-1 draw with Manchester City at the Emirates Stadium.
According to The Guardian, the £48.5m summer signing from Chelsea is scheduled for medical tests on Monday, with early optimism that the problem may not require a lengthy layoff.
Arsenal’s Injury Pile-Up Grows
The setback adds to Mikel Arteta’s injury concerns, with Kai Havertz sidelined by a knee issue, Martin Ødegaard nursing a shoulder injury, and Bukayo Saka only just returning from a hamstring problem.
Madueke had stepped up impressively in Saka’s absence, slotting into the right flank and showcasing his creativity, direct dribbling, and sharp end product. On Sunday, Saka returned as a half-time substitute — ironically replacing Madueke after his early withdrawal.
Speaking post-match, Arteta confirmed:
“He had an issue very early in the match and he wasn’t well enough to continue.”
Madueke’s Strong Start
Since making the switch from Chelsea, the 22-year-old has quickly established himself as a key figure in Arsenal’s attack. His momentum also carried into the international break, where he scored in England’s 5-0 win over Serbia earlier this month.
While the initial outlook is cautiously positive, Arsenal fans will be hoping scans confirm that Madueke can make a swift return — especially with the club already stretched by a growing injury list.
What’s Next For Arsenal?
The Gunners face a crucial run of fixtures across the Premier League and Champions League, and Arteta will be desperate to have his attacking options fit and firing.
Madueke’s progress will be closely monitored in the coming days, with Arsenal hoping their £48.5m investment avoids becoming another long-term absentee.
