English Clubs Discover Champions League Fate

Can an English team win the Champions League for the first time since 2023?

The full Champions League group stage schedule has been revealed, meaning the six Premier League sides competing have learned their travel itineraries.

Arsenal performed best of any English side last year, reaching the semi-finals, and will open their redemption bid with a trip to Bilbao to face Athletic Club. They rather dodged a bullet as they were handed a home tie against Kairat Almaty. To play the Kazakh outfit away would have warranted a near 7,000-mile round trip to central Asia.

Meanwhile, Chelsea’s push for a third Champions League honour will begin at the site of their first – Munich’s Allianz Arena. They do face an arduous away day, though, and will travel to Azerbaijan to face Qarabag in November.

Tottenham and Newcastle both face the unenviable prospect of facing reigning champions Paris Saint-Germain at the Parc des Princes.
