The Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) has announced a fresh schedule for Matchday Two of the 2025/2026 season, with new dates, times, and venues confirmed for the fixtures.
In a circular dated August 27, 2025, and signed by the league’s Chief Operating Officer, Davidson Owumi, all clubs were notified of the adjustments and urged to ensure proper logistics for smooth and hitch-free games.
The action begins on Saturday , August 30, when Bendel Insurance host Shooting Stars at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium, Benin.
The clash, which will be broadcast live on Propel Sports, is expected to draw massive attention as both teams seek early momentum in the campaign.
A full slate of matches follows on Sunday, August 31, with several exciting encounters lined up.
Kano Pillars will entertain Wikki Tourists in Kano, while Plateau United face Katsina United in Jos. Warri Wolves will square off against Rangers International in Ozoro, and Rivers United welcome Kwara United to Port Harcourt.
Also on the day, Ikorodu City will take on El-Kanemi Warriors in Lagos at 5:30pm, the only late kickoff of the round.
Elsewhere, Bayelsa United face Barau FC in Yenagoa, while Enyimba International clash with Niger Tornadoes in Aba. Nasarawa United will also host Abia Warriors in Lafia.
One notable adjustment sees the fixture between Kun Khalifat FC and Remo Stars moved to Monday, September 1, at the Enyimba Stadium, Aba.
The match, which will also be televised live, is expected to be a tough contest, with newly promoted Kun Khalifat aiming to prove their worth against one of the league’s defending Champions.
The NPFL assured stakeholders that the rescheduling was necessary to align with broadcast logistics and stadium availability.
Clubs, state associations, and match officials have been directed to comply fully to ensure the season continues on a smooth path.
With early-season form crucial in setting the tone for the campaign, Matchday Two promises to deliver another round of drama, rivalries, and top-quality football across Nigeria.
