Crisis Averted: Kun Khalifat FC Find Partner
Kun Khalifat FC have announced a timely partnership with JT Gym, a leading name in the health and fitness industry, just 24 hours after the club publicly appealed for financial support.
The deal, confirmed in a statement by the club’s management, was hailed as a “significant milestone” built on shared values of excellence, innovation, and community impact.
With the agreement, JT Gym becomes an official partner of Kun Khalifat FC , a move expected to boost the club’s ambitions both on and off the pitch while also enriching fan experiences and driving wider community engagement.
“We are proud to welcome JT Gym into the Kun Khalifat FC family and look forward to a successful journey together,” the statement read.
This development comes at a critical moment for the NPFL newcomers.
Twenty four hours ago, CEO Michael Chukwudi Amaefule raised concerns about the club’s ability to fd the 2025/26 season, revealing that an estimated ₦1 billion would be required to sustain their campaign.
In his appeal, Amaefule urged fans, the Imo State Government, corporate organizations, and well-meaning individuals to come to the club’s aid:
“We cannot sustain our participation in the premier league without external assistance. With the right support and sponsorship, we can overcome financial hurdles, maintain our NPFL status, and achieve greater things together.”
The new partnership with JT Gym is expected to provide some relief to the financial pressures as Kun Khalifat FC seek to establish themselves in Nigeria’s topflight.
The team will next be in action on September 1, when they host Remo Stars at the Enyimba Stadium in Aba in Matchday 2 of the 2025/26 NPFL season.
