Akwa United Appoints New Management And Coaching Staff
Akwa United Football Club has announced a new management committee, with Mr. Joseph Eno appointed as the new Chairman. The move comes as Governor Umo Eno directs the immediate return of the club to the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL), stressing that a club of Akwa United’s stature belongs in the top flight.
Mr. Eno, a seasoned procurement expert and football enthusiast, is a University of Nigeria, Nsukka graduate with a rich background in both corporate and grassroots football. He retired from Total Energies after 20 years of service and is currently the MD/CEO of CampeGee Hotel and Resort, Uyo.
Supporting him in the new management setup are: Pastor Ini Edoho – Vice Chairman, Mr. Jimmy Joshua – General Manager, Elder Omon Bassey – Club Secretary, Mr. Festus Akpan – Team Manager, Mr. Mfon Patrick – Media Manager, Mr. Nsikak Abasi Akpan – Assistant Media Manager
In a related development, Coach Paul Offor, formerly of Sporting Lagos, has been appointed Head Coach of Akwa United. Offor, who led Sporting Lagos to promotion in the 2023–24 season, is now tasked with preparing the Promise Keepers for the 2025–26 Nigeria National League (NNL) campaign.
