DIY brand Gorilla has inked a deal with the English Football League (EFL) which will see it become a sponsor of Sky Sports’ coverage of the Carabao Cup next season.
Known for it’s adhesive brands, Gorilla is a mainstay in the DIY sector and will showcase its brands during Sky’s coverage, with every Carabao Cup match, from the earliest rounds to the Final at Wembley, shown live on Sky Sports throughout the 2025/26 season.
There is significant humour potential for this one to be a memorable collaboration, with the gorilla glue adverts already a big hit with US audiences. Gorilla has designed a range of new ads tailored to ‘bring their trademark energy’ to TV screens across the UK.
Ben Wright, Chief Commercial Officer at the EFL, said: “It is testament to the success and popularity of the EFL that global brands such as Gorilla want to be associated with our competitions.
“Gorilla’s distinctive brand personality and bold approach make them a great fit for the Carabao Cup, a competition that continues to deliver excitement and drama. With every match shown live on Sky Sports, this partnership offers a creative way to connect with fans throughout the season.”
Brand Manager at Gorilla, Camille Ashforth added: “We’re delighted to be involved with the Carabao Cup this year. It’s such a universally loved and anticipated competition, which brings together people from all walks of life through their love of the great game – the Gorilla team included!
“To play a part in bringing it to the nation’s screens is a real joy for us, and we couldn’t be happier to be working alongside an organisation as integral to the game as the EFL.”
The 25/26 Carabao Cup begins tonight, with 30 matches scheduled featuring clubs from England’s second, third and fourth tiers.
