Roma Join Race For Manchester United Outcast Sancho
Roma have also entered the race to sign Jadon Sancho from Manchester United as they enquire about the Englishman’s transfer terms.
WHAT HAPPENED?
Roma are also now actively pursuing the winger, having acquired information about the situation surrounding the United outcast, according to Sport Italia. The 25-year-old had earlier been in talks about a move to Juventus, but the deal has since stalled.
THE BIGGER PICTURE
Borussia Dortmund’s sporting director Sebastian Kehl had earlier confirmed the club was discussing potential options to bring Sancho back to Dortmund. However, none of the deals have progressed well, as the Red Devils are reportedly looking to sell the winger for around €20 million (£17m/$23m), but the interested parties are either not willing to match their asking price or are mostly looking to sign the winger on loan with a buy option.
DID YOU KNOW?
In Italy, another club has been monitoring Sancho’s situation. Inter are reportedly considering a move for the ex-Dortmund player amid uncertainty surrounding Ademola Lookman’s transfer. However, Juve have been the closest side, with whom the winger has reportedly also agreed to personal terms.
WHAT NEXT FOR UNITED?
United are looking to sign more players this summer but are waiting to offload a few names before registering new ones. The English club want to sell Alejandro Garnacho, Antony, and Sancho so that they can enter negotiations with Brighton for Carlos Baleba.
