Real Madrid have made several big moves in the transfer market this summer, roping in as many as four players in the form of Trent Alexander-Arnold, Dean Huijsen, Franco Mastantuono and Alvaro Carreras.
The squad seems to be closed for the present, unless there are some late departures which force the club to enter the market for replacements.
However, planning for the future is already underway and to that end, Real Madrid are readying a big move for a certain Portuguese teenage prodigy.
Real Madrid ready to trigger Rodrigo Mora’s release clause
Indeed, according to Fichajes, Real Madrid are preparing to make a major late splash in the transfer market by activating the €70 million release clause of FC Porto’s highly-rated midfielder Rodrigo Mora.
The plan is to secure the 18-year-old’s signature now but allow him to remain in Porto for one more season on loan, enabling him to continue his development in a familiar environment and maintain competitive rhythm.
Despite his age, Rodrigo Mora became a key player for Porto in the last season, standing out for his versatility, ball-winning ability, vision, and precision passing.
Able to play anywhere in midfield or even on the wings, the 18-year-old is capable of adapting to different tactical systems and contributing both defensively and offensively.
With Xabi Alonso at the helm, Real Madrid see Mora as a perfect fit for their long-term project – a player who can inject youth and energy into the squad while strengthening the midfield core.
To avoid losing him to other interested European giants, the club are ready to pay the full €70 million clause. The agreement under discussion would see Mora stay in Portugal until summer 2026 – mirroring the deal that they had struck for Endrick a few years ago.
Porto would retain a key player for another season while securing a significant financial boost, while Real Madrid would lock down a talent they believe could become a mainstay for years to come.
