Milan And Inter In Transfer Race For Parma’s Leoni
Milan and Inter are both dreaming of signing Parma centre-back Giovanni Leoni this summer, with the Milanese clubs set for a battle for his signature.
According to what has been reported by the Corriere dello Sport, Leoni is a top target for both clubs and now the rivals are ready to butt-heads as they fight to secure their man.
Both teams, however, are working on player sales to help finance a move, whilst Premier League club Liverpool reportedly also wait in anticipation surrounding Leoni’s future.
Talented Italian Leoni turning top club heads
Despite being just 18-years-old, Leoni is seen as one of the brightest young prospects in Italy at this time. Last season, the teenager played 17 times in Serie A for Parma as he helped the side stay in Italy’s top flight.
For a debut season in Serie A, Leoni did well, having only played 12 games in Serie B the season before for Sampdoria. Despite his age, he has shown his class and ability and despite Parma’s desire to keep hold of him, it is unlikely they will be able to say ‘no’ when the offers start arriving from Europe’s best clubs.
