Amorim Announces Manchester United Team For Snapdragon Cup
Ruben Amorim has selected his Manchester United side to face Fiorentina in the Snapdragon Cup.
The last of our warm-up fixtures ahead of the Premier League campaign kicks off at 12:45 BST and is being shown live on MUTV.
There is a first chance to see Matheus Cunha and Bryan Mbeumo in home action for the Reds.
Ayden Heaven starts in the three-man defence.
Our latest recruit, Slovenia international Benjamin Sesko, does not feature but will be paraded on the pitch beforehand.
Mason Mount is rewarded for his goalscoring appearance off the bench in the 2-2 draw with Everton that clinched success in the Premier League Summer Series in the US, with a start, presumably pushing Bruno Fernandes into a deeper role, alongside the vastly experienced Casemiro.
There is still no Andre Onana, although the keeper has insisted he is hoping to be ready for next weekend’s opener against Arsenal, while David De Gea is picked to keep goal for the visitors, on his first return to his former home.
Former Manchester City striker Edin Dzeko is also in the Serie A side’s line-up.
United: Bayindir; Yoro, Maguire, Heaven; Amad, Casemiro, Fernandes (c), Dorgu; Mbeumo, Mount; Cunha.
Substitutes: Heaton, Mee, Dalot, De Ligt, Fredricson, Leon, Shaw, Collyer, Mainoo, Ugarte, Hojlund, Obi.
