Real Madrid Open To Welcoming Back Club Legend As A Coach

Luka Modric may have left Real Madrid as a player, but the club has made it clear that his journey with Los Blancos might not be over just yet.

As per a recent update from Defensa Central, Real Madrid president Florentino Perez has warmly opened the door for his iconic midfielder to return in a managerial role in the future.

Modric brought his incredible chapter at Real Madrid to a close this summer, signing for AC Milan after more than a decade of unforgettable service.

He bowed out as the most decorated player in the club’s history, having lifted 28 trophies in the famous white shirt.

On May 24th, during his emotional farewell at the Santiago Bernabeu, the Croatian star once again showed the class that made him a fan favourite.

In his typical calm and humble manner, he left supporters with a quote that summed up his career perfectly: “Don’t cry because it’s over, smile because it happened.”

It was a touching goodbye, but not a final one.

Real Madrid ready to welcome Modric back

According to the aforementioned outlet, Modric recently had a private conversation with Perez, where he expressed a future desire to become a manager.

The club president responded with an open invitation that, should Modric decide to take that path, Real Madrid would be honoured to have him begin his coaching career at La Fabrica, the club’s youth academy.

It’s the same path that other club legends have taken, including Raul Gonzalez, Guti, Zinedine Zidane, Alvaro Arbeloa, and current first-team manager Xabi Alonso.

Each of them laid their coaching foundations at the academy before moving on to bigger roles.

Real Madrid view Modric not just as a former player, but as a long-term figure in the club’s story.

And if he ever chooses to return in a new role, the doors at Valdebebas will always be open.
