Sky Italia Extends Bundesliga Rights For Four More Seasons
Bundesliga International and Sky Italia have agreed a four-year extension to their broadcast deal which will see Sky Italia remain the exclusive home of the Bundesliga in Italy until the end of the 2028-29 season.
The new agreement begins from the start of the 2025/26 season, with the Franz Beckenbauer Supercup between VfB Stuttgart and FC Bayern Munich set to be broadcast live on August 16 from the MHP Arena in Stuttgart.
The deal will encompass both the Bundesliga and Bundesliga 2, alongside a “range of shoulder programming, highlights, interviews and social media clips”.
Sky Italia is one of the Bundesliga’s longest-standing media partners, having first broadcast the German top-flight for the 2003-04 season.
“Our connection with Sky Italia has run for more than 20 years, and this long-standing relationship, characterised by mutual respect and trust, has allowed us to evolve with the ever-changing market,” said Peer Naubert, Chief Executive Officer of Bundesliga International.
“Working with an industry leader that shares our commitment to bringing the best of German football to fans throughout Italy, the result is the sustained growth of the Bundesliga. Together we can continue this trend, delivering a best-in-class product to some of the most passionate football fans in the world.”
“Sky is delighted to announce this new agreement with Bundesliga, an important league that enriches Sky Sport’s offering dedicated to international football,” said a spokesperson for Sky Italia.
“Bundesliga is synonymous with talent and entertainment, a German football heritage that will remain available to all fans for another four seasons.”
