Head coach of the Super Falcons of Nigeria, Justin Madugu, has revealed his delight after his side were able to seal a WAFCON 2024 final match-up against host nation, Morocco.
The coach has been involved with the Nigerian Women’s team across several levels and was tasked with leading the senior team to achieve Mission X after their former gaffer, Randy Waldrum, stepped down.
Nigeria are now a game away from achieving their mission, and coach Madugu was a relieved man after his side sealed a late winner against South Africa in the semi-final.
Justin Madugu, is present during the Super Falcons of Nigeria International Friendly match against the Fennecs of Algeria at the Remo Stars Sports Complex in Ikenne, Ogun State.
“Yes, it was a tough game, no doubts about that. Everyone knew it wasn’t going to be an easy game,” the 61-year-old said in his post-match conference.
At the end of it all, what we desired was to win, and eventually that happened, so we’re happy we’ll be playing the finals.
“We are happy we’re on course for Mission X. We came here with the ambition to win the trophy, and we’re happy we’re getting it right.”
