The Adarabioyo Youth Cup (AYC), a grassroots football initiative aimed at nurturing young talent, is set to kick off on Wednesday, July 23, 2025, at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena, Onikan, Lagos.
Organized by the Lagos State Football Association, the one-day mini-tournament will run from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM and feature four youth teams competing for the coveted trophy.
Participating Teams
The tournament will showcase exciting football action from four rising clubs:
1. 36 Lion FC
2. Seamoriow FC
3. Mavlon FC
4. Eko Football Boys
Format and Match Schedule
The AYC will adopt a knockout format, starting with two semifinal matches. Each game will be played over two 30-minute halves. The winners of the semifinals will progress to the final, where they will battle for the championship.

Adding to the excitement, Chelsea FC defender Tosin Adarabioyo will be present for a special Meet and Greet session with the players and fans. The session offers a unique opportunity for young footballers to interact with the Premier League star, drawing inspiration from his professional journey.
A Platform for Growth
Speaking about the initiative, organizers emphasized the tournament’s role in providing a platform for young players to showcase their skills, gain exposure, and build confidence through competitive play.
“The Adarabioyo Youth Cup is more than just a tournament; it’s a step forward in the development of grassroots football in Lagos,” said a spokesperson for the Lagos State FA.
Community Engagement
Beyond football, the event aims to foster community spirit and encourage youth participation in sports. With free access to the venue, the tournament is expected to draw a vibrant crowd of supporters, scouts, and football enthusiasts.
