AC Milan Pursue Boniface To Partner Chukwueze
Super Eagles striker Victor Boniface is edging closer to a potential switch to AC Milan with initial talks already underway between the Italian giants and the player’s representatives, according to Soccernet.ng.
Boniface, who has made a positive impression with Bayer Leverkusen since joining the club, is said to be open to a permanent move to the San Siro, where he could link up with fellow Nigerian international Samuel Chukwueze.
Sources close to the negotiations reveal that preliminary discussions have taken place between Milan officials and the forward’s camp. With this, a strong mutual interest in completing the transfer.
Transfer expert Sacha Tavolieri earlier reported that the 24-year-old has “opened the door” to the move, while Italian outlet La Gazzetta dello Sport confirmed that AC Milan have officially “entered negotiations” to sign the Nigerian.
Boniface joined Leverkusen in the summer of 2023 and played a pivotal role in helping Xabi Alonso’s side win the Bundesliga title.
However, with new manager Erik ten Hag now in charge, the Nigerian’s place in the squad appears uncertain.
Reports, per Tribuna, suggest that Leverkusen may be open to selling him if a suitable offer—believed to be between €40 million and €50 million—is received.
The potential transfer would strengthen Milan’s attacking options and reunite Boniface with Chukwueze, who joined the Rossoneri in 2023.
AC Milan are reportedly leading the race to secure Boniface’s signature ahead of other suitors, including Premier League clubs and teams from the Saudi Pro League.
This summer window is expected to prove decisive in sealing a deal with talks already initiated, and Boniface open to the switch.
