Immobile Agrees Serie A Return After 19-Goal Besiktas Season
Reports in Italy and Turkey claim that Ciro Immobile will soon be on his way back over to Italy to complete a return to Serie A with Bologna after a one-year spell with Besiktas.
Reports on Wednesday claim that Immobile has been in Istanbul this afternoon to arrange the final details of his departure with Besiktas.
Updates from Yağız Sabuncuoğlu confirm Immobile has terminated his Besiktas contract by mutual consent, which means that he will be available as a free agent this summer.
Immobile set for Bologna after Besiktas termination
Sky Sport Italia adds that once the final formalities in Turkey have been completed, Immobile will be on his way over to Italy to complete the last steps of a move to Bologna.
The 35-year-old, whose 201 Serie A goals has him as the division’s eighth-highest all-time goalscorer, is expected to sign a one-year contract with an option for an additional 12 months in Emilia-Romagna.
As things stand, Immobile requires four more Serie A goals to draw level with the legendary Roberto Baggio on the all-time top scorers list, and eight more to draw level with Antonio Di Natale in sixth place.
The former Lazio captain provided 15 league goals from 30 appearances during his sole season with Besiktas. His seasonal tally reached 19 across all competitions.
