According to AS.
Real Madrid forward Kylian Mbappe is expected to play against Juventus in the round of 16 of the Club World Cup on Tuesday, and manager Xabi Alonso has been eagerly waiting for his return.
Mbappe has not featured for Real Madrid in the entirety of the Club World Cup as he was diagnosed with gastroenteritis a day before the team’s first game under Alonso.
He was then hospitalised and given a specific recovery treatment.
It was announced that Mbappe rejoined training a day before Real Madrid’s last game against Salzburg, but Alonso took no risks and rested him, leaving the Frenchman out of the matchday squad.
However, now, according to the report, Mbappe is feeling much better, and given that he has had a few training sessions under his belt, it looks like he will play in the knockout rounds.
That is when Real Madrid will need him most, so it works out well for all parties involved.
