Udinese Confirm Thauvin Contract Extension
Udinese have officially extended their contract with captain Florian Thauvin to June 2026, despite interest from other Serie A sides.
There had been rumours of an approach from Fiorentina, while Milan and Lazio had been linked in the past.
However, Udinese activated their option to extend his current deal, which had been due to expire on June 30.
Thauvin from World Cup winner to Udinese captain
The 32-year-old France international was part of the Bleus squad that won the 2018 World Cup.
He had a curious career path, including Olympique Marseille, Lille, Newcastle United and Mexican side Tigres before coming to Udinese as a free agent in January 2023.
This season, Thauvin contributed nine goals and five assists in 26 games for the Friulani between Serie A and the Coppa Italia.
He was named captain by coach Kosta Runjaic at the start of the season and will continue to lead Udinese into the next campaign.
