Africa’s Elite Armwrestlers Descend On Abuja In 29 Days
The countdown has officially begun! In just 29 days, Abuja will host the most anticipated strength sport event on the continent—the 14th African Armwrestling Championship and the 7th Para-Armwrestling Championship, scheduled for July 23–27, 2025.
Organized under the leadership of Hon. Adeboye Adeyinka, Senior Special Assistant to the President on Grassroots Sports Development and Chairman of the Local Organizing Committee (LOC), the championship promises an electrifying showcase of raw power, elite talent, and national pride.
Over 20 African countries will be represented by their best armwrestlers—athletes known not just for strength, but for discipline, resilience, and unshakable determination. From explosive showdowns to nail-biting finishes, the event will serve up world-class excitement and competitive excellence.
This year’s edition also includes the Para-Armwrestling category, further highlighting the inclusivity and diversity that armwrestling brings to the African sporting landscape.
The recent mascot and jersey unveiling event drew massive attention, with support pouring in from across the sports community.
Official kits by Prostar Sports International have added flair and identity to the event, while the championship mascot has become a fast-rising symbol of strength and unity.
As the world turns its eyes to Abuja, fans and supporters are encouraged to join the movement.
