World Cup Winner Praises “Incredible” Barca Youngster
Lamine Yamal has left everyone amazed with how well he played this season, helping FC Barcelona win a domestic treble.
Despite being only 17 years old, the La Masia gem has become the face of this new-age Barça team as well as the Spanish national team.
Having enjoyed a prolific campaign during which he won multiple trophies, Lamine is in the conversations for the Ballon d’Or and is considered one of the favourites alongside PSG’s Ousmane Dembele.
The youngster’s exploits have seen him draw plaudits from all corners, with current and former footballers, pundits, and rivals all hailing him.
Paul Pogba joins in praise
Now, former Manchester United and France midfielder Paul Pogba has come out and sung praises of Lamine, highlighting the Barcelona prospect’s maturity at 17 as a huge asset.
Speaking to ESPN, Pogba, who could join Barça outcast Ansu Fati at AS Monaco this summer, said:
“He’s incredible. What impresses me about him is that he has the mentality of an adult at his age. He always plays clearly, and at such an age, that’s crazy,” said the 2018 FIFA World Cup winner.
Lamine, currently on holiday in Brazil with Barcelona icon Neymar, will welcome the compliments from the French midfield ace.
The 17-year-old wonderkid has already signed a new long-term contract with Barcelona which will come into force next month once he turns 18.
Having enjoyed a special season, the La Masia sensation will hope to build on it and scale greater heights with the Catalan giants in the years to come.
