Lewandowski Considers Poland Return After Probierz Resignation
Time for a comeback
Barcelona striker Robert Lewandowski is now reportedly considering a return to the Poland national team after Michal Probierz announced he was stepping down.
Lewandowski missed Poland’s most recent World Cup qualifiers, saying he was mentally and physically tired after a long season.
The veteran striker then announced he would no longer play for Poland under Probierz as he felt betrayed by the boss after he took the captaincy off him.
Probierz has since resigned from his post, paving the way for Lewandowski to return to the national team set-up in the future.
According to Bild, Lewandowski is now thinking about a comeback and could be available for Poland’s next matches in September.
The national team are due to play Netherlands and Finland in World Cup qualifying as Poland continue their campaign under new management.
Poland currently sit third in Group E after three matches, behind leaders Finland and the Netherlands.
