The resilience of Cristiano Ronaldo and energy of Osimhen have been cited as a double force of motivation that is spurring an SS1 student in Osun State, Wahab Mustapha, to aim for excellence in football.
This was revealed by Mustapha himself during a chat with Sports247 in the rustic countryside of Osu, the headquarters of Atakunmosa West Local Government, where he is learning the ropes of football.
Though he appears to be hidden in an interior area of Nigeria, Mustspha is already thinking big, as he is eyeing future glory for himself, his family and the nation.
Although he hails from Abeokuta, Ogun State, where he was born, Wahab Mustapha has settled down fast in Osu, after his parents relocated some years ago to the town famous for sales of fried bean cake (akara).
He now attends Unique Minds International School in Opa area of Ile-Ife but trains every evening at Atakunmosa High School, Osu; thereby combining the traditions of three different areas of Yorubaland.
However, he is not restricting his vision to local things alone, as the youngster revealed he hopes to play for Real Madrid of Spain in years to come and shine with the Super Eagles.
Mustapha is already being touted as a pioneer member of a new football development project that is being planned to take off this July in Osu, and the deft striker says he’s up to the task, as he hopes to prove his mettle by combining the various assets of both Ronaldo and Osimhen to make himself a lethal striker.
“I’m already thinking of playing for Real Madrid when I get older. For now, the ability of Cristiano Ronaldo to keep playing so well at 40 years old amazes me, and the ways in which Victor Osimhen scores goals inspire me. I want to be geater than both of them,” Mustapha enthused.
