The Paris Saint-Germain number 10 spoke to UEFA after the Champions League final victory over Inter Milan (5-0).
“It’s exceptional. We’ve worked so hard all season long. We had a difficult draw with a lot of big teams. In the Round of 16, we came up against Liverpool, then Aston Villa, Arsenal…We played some great games, and were able to knock them out of the competition. Then, to finish in style with a 5-0 win in the Champions League final is really special.”
DREAM COME TRUE
“Ever since I was little, it’s been a dream to play in the Champions League. Getting to the final is already a great achievement, and winning it even more so. They’re incredible emotions. I’m proud of what we’ve done. I’m also proud of everything that I’ve done in my career to achieve a result like this one. It’s magnificent.”
importance OF THE FANS
“They’ve been there for us from the start to the finish. They support us in our victories just as they do in our defeats. They push us, they’re really our 12th man. We’re proud of them. We are also happy because it’s a reward for them.”
HIS PERFORMANCES
“I’m happy. As I often say, it’s thanks to the whole squad, my teammates and their mentality. I really enjoy playing with this team. Everyone gets on so well, and we only have great players. I fight for this shirt.”
