Ter Stegen’s Barca Stance: No Exit Despite Garcia Pursuit
Marc-Andre ter Stegen is reportedly “fully informed” about Barcelona’s plan to sign Joan Garcia but has no plans to leave the club this summer.
Barcelona are thought to be closing in on a move for the Espanyol goalkeeper who is expected to give the transfer the green light.
There has been speculation that Barcelona will put Ter Stegen up for sale if Garcia does arrive, but it seems the German is in no rush to leave.
According to Sky Sport reporter Florian Plettenberg, Ter Stegen “wants to stay” and “wants to remain No. 1 for the new season.”
There have been no talks with other clubs, although the club are said to be “open to offers” for Ter Stegen.
Meanwhile, it’s thought that Garcia only really wants to move if he’s going to be first choice at his new club, meaning the two goalkeepers may have to battle it out for the No. 1 sport.
