A tragic accident has claimed the lives of members of the Kano State contingent returning home from the recently concluded National Sports Festival held in Ogun State.

The fatal crash occurred earlier today, leaving the Nigerian sports community in shock and mourning.

The athletes and officials, who had proudly represented their state in the prestigious national event, were returning from a week of sporting competition when the unfortunate incident occurred.

The exact number of casualties is yet to be officially confirmed, but multiple lives were reportedly lost.

Hon. Adeboye Anthony Adeyinka, Senior Special Assistant to the President on Grassroots Sports Development, issued a heartfelt condolence message in response to the tragedy.
