Inter and Italy wing-back Federico Dimarco has been dubbed ‘one of the best left-backs in the world’ by none other than Roberto Carlos ahead of the Champions League final between the Nerazzurri and Paris Saint-Germain on Saturday night.
Roberto Carlos, who began his career in Europe with Inter before joining Real Madrid, is widely considered one of the greatest to have ever played at left-back.
He feels that of the current generation, Dimarco is up there with the very best in his position.
“He is one of the best left-backs in the world, I hope he always plays well. That’s the most important thing,” Roberto Carlos said at a warm-up event ahead of the Champions League final on Saturday.
Dimarco is expected to assume his usual position as a starter at left wing-back in Simone Inzaghi’s 3-5-2 at the Allianz Arena on Saturday evening.
The 27-year-old has four goals and 11 assists to his name across all competitions this term.
He is expected to play on the opposite flank to Denzel Dumfries, with Nicolo Barella, Hakan Calhanoglu and Henrikh Mkhitaryan primed to assume their usual roles across the mifdield three.
