Osamuyi, Musa Win National Sports Festival Titles

Festival, storming to victory in the women’s 100m hurdles final with a new Personal Best (PB) of 13.26 seconds. Representing Edo State on home soil, Faith Osamuyi left no doubts about her dominance, powering ahead from the first hurdle to secure the gold medal in commanding fashion.

Her blistering run not only earned her the top spot but also sent a clear message about her growing stature on the national sprint hurdles scene.

The hometown crowd erupted in celebration as she crossed the finish line well ahead of the competition.

Grace Ayemoba battled valiantly to claim the silver medal, finishing in second place.

While her time was not disclosed at the time of reporting, Ayemoba’s consistency and competitiveness continue to make her a formidable presence in the discipline.

In the men’s 110m hurdles final, it was Wisdom Great Musa who stole the spotlight. Clocking a swift 14.15 seconds, Musa edged out a competitive field to take the gold, cementing his place among Nigeria’s top hurdlers.

His speed and technique over the barriers were unmatched on the day, making him a deserving champion.

Both athletes’ performances highlighted the quality and depth of Nigeria’s hurdling talent, as well as the importance of the National Sports Festival in unearthing and showcasing future stars.

With the Paris 2024 Olympics now behind and eyes set on the World Championships and other major meets ahead, performances like Osamuyi’s and Musa’s are bound to draw attention from national selectors and international scouts alike.
