Ten Hag Takes Over Leverkusen
Former Manchester United gaffer Erik Ten Hag has been confirmed as Nathan Tella and Victor Boniface’s new coach at Bayer Leverkusen.
On Sunday, Spanish giants Real Madrid announced Xabi Alonso as their new coach, replacing Carlo Ancelotti, whose exit was confirmed last week.
Of course, Alonso’s exit from Bayer Leverkusen left a managerial hole that needed to be fixed. Ten Hag’s has been the most likely, as he has been jobless since he was dismissed at Manchester United earlier in the season.
Although he was linked with a return to Ajax, Leverkusen always wanted him, and he was also interested in the job.
The deal is now sealed, as Bayer Leverkusen have confirmed the appointment of Ten Hag as coach. The Dutchman signed a contract that will keep him at the club until 2027.
Do Nathan Tella and Victor Boniface have a future at Bayer Leverkusen?
Bayer Leverkusen are expected to experience a mass exodus in the summer. They have already lost their coach Alonso, Jonathan Tah will leave, and Florian Wirtz also looks on the brink of exiting.
Victor Boniface could also be on his way out, with recent reports stating that Bayer Leverkusen are desperate to sell him off despite his decent performances. Hence, it is quite unlikely that he will work with Ten Hag at the club.
Meanwhile, it looks like Nathan Tella will stay. The Super Eagles winger has not had a position. He has played as a striker, a winger, and a full back.
With Ten Hag joining Die Werkself, Tella could get a bit more stability in terms of where he plays. On the other hand, Ten Hag did not do much in terms of improving his players when he was at Manchester United. But since this is a new environment, things could turn out differently for him.
If Boniface and Tella stay in Leverkusen, they will hope to maintain their high levels and achieve success with Ten Hag.
