Super Eagles Prep In London: 20 Strong, 6 More Due For Ghana

Nigeria’s Super Eagles have kicked off preparations for the 2025 Unity Cup with 20 players already in camp in London, as anticipation builds for their opening clash against fierce West African rivals Ghana.

The squad, a blend of experienced internationals and home-based hopefuls, began settling into their base ahead of Wednesday’s headline match at the Gtech Community Stadium in Brentford.

The Unity Cup, scheduled from May 27 to 31, brings together Nigeria, Ghana, Jamaica, and Trinidad & Tobago in a four-nation event aimed at promoting unity through football and culture.

Wilfred Ndidi, Kelechi Iheanacho, Moses Simon, Nathan Tella, Frank Onyeka, Semi Ajayi, and Cyriel Dessers headline a group of Europe-based professionals already in camp.

Captain Ahmed Musa also arrived early, bringing veteran leadership alongside Bundesliga full-back Felix Agu and Slavia Prague’s Igho Ogbu.

The home-based contingent includes Junior Nduka, Sadiq Ismaila, Waliu Ojetoye, Ifeanyi Onyebuchi, Papa Mustapha, Saviour Isaac, Collins Ugwueze, Sikiru Alimi, and Abubakar Adamu — players eager to make an impression in what could be a springboard for future call-ups.

Head coach Eric Chelle will be further boosted in the coming hours by the arrivals of first-choice goalkeeper Stanley Nwabali, Maduka Okoye, Amas Obasogie, defender Chrisantus Uche, Villarreal winger Samuel Chukwueze, and forward Tolu Arokodare.

With Nigeria’s showdown against Ghana set for May 28, the coaching staff will intensify tactical drills and foster cohesion within the mixed squad in the coming hours.
