Serie A Hand Out Bans to Conte, Inzaghi, Conceicao, and Baroni

Antonio Conte, Simone Inzaghi and Sergio Conceicao will all be suspended for the final match of the 2024-25 season after receiving red cards in their respective fixtures in a chaotic penultimate round of Serie A fixtures.

There is just one round of 2024-25 Serie A matches left to play. After nine simultaneous matches on Sunday night, Napoli still have a +1 point lead at the top of the Serie A standings over Inter ahead of their games against Cagliari and Como respectively next week.

There were plenty of talking points during the bumper round of Sunday fixtures, including the red cards shown to Conte during Parma 0-0 Napoli, the one shown to Inzaghi in Inter 2-2 Lazio and the dismissal of Conceicao during Milan’s 3-1 loss against Roma.

Conte, Inzaghi, Conceicao and Baroni bans confirmed

The Sports judge has ruled that Conte has been given a one-match ban, a €5,000 fine and an official warning for his actions during Napoli’s draw with Parma.

Inzaghi, Conceicao and Lazio head coach Marco Baroni have been given one match bans and €5,000 fines as well.

Christian Chivu and Udinese coach Sergio Macron have also been handed one-match bans but have not been given any fines.

Bologna defender Juan Miranda has been given a two-match ban, which means he will be ineligible to feature in the first game of the 2025-26 season, as a result of violent conduct.

Milan’s Santiago Gimenez has been given a one-match ban and a €15,000 fine as a result of his sending off during his side’s loss to Roma.

Edoardo Goldaniga, Jay Idzes, Thomas Kristensen, Sandi Lovric and Tete Morente all get one-match bans as a result of yellow cards.

Lecce, Genoa, Verona, Roma, Parma and Inter fined

Several Serie A clubs have been handed fines after the 37th round of fixtures as well: Lecce will pay €7,000 as a result of smoke bombs being thrown onto the pitch. Genoa and Hellas Verona will both pay €4,000 for similar, but less severe incidents. Roma get a €3,000 for the same reason.

Parma will have to pay a €1,500 fine after one of their supporters threw a lighter onto the pitch, while Inter get a €1,000 as a result of plastic bottles being thrown onto the pitch.
