Multiple sources are confirming that Juventus have chosen Antonio Conte to relaunch the club next season, hoping to lure him back from Napoli.
He had been mentioned as an outsider candidate for several months, but the possible failure to qualify for the Champions League and Conte’s own problems at Napoli with President Aurelio De Laurentiis have pushed this idea to the forefront.
Sky Sport Italia pundit Gianluca Di Marzio, DAZN’s Orazio Accomando and Sportitalia chief Alfredo Pedullà are all confident that Conte is the number one choice for Juventus.
Conte still loves Juventus
It would be a return to the Old Lady for someone who was already an icon both as a player and a coach.
The 55-year-old still has a home in Turin with his family, so would be set up to start work straight away.
His coaching spell at Juventus lasted from 2011 to 2014, winning three consecutive Serie A titles.
There have been a few different hints that Juve are trying to lay the groundwork to tempt him back, including an approach for his old fitness coach Antonio Pintus, who is currently at Real Madrid.
