Real Madrid Confident Of Beating Chelsea, Arsenal, Liverpool To £50m gem
Dean Huijsen is sparking a major transfer war heading into the summer window as top clubs across Europe battle for his signing.
The 20-year-old centre-back is a top target for Real Madrid as they seek to reinforce their defensive unit, but big English sides like Chelsea, Arsenal, and Liverpool are also keen on the AFC Bournemouth star.
Chelsea, in particular, have been keen on landing the Spaniard who has a £50 million release clause in his contract, emerging as a major threat to Los Blancos.
On top of that, reports from Florian Plettenberg earlier today suggested that Arsenal and Liverpool were in pole position to sign the youngster.
Real Madrid eke ahead of Premier League trio
However, according to the latest update from The Telegraph, Real Madrid have now moved ahead of the Premier League trio in the race to sign Huijsen and are confident of securing his signing.
Given the rising interest in the youngster, Real Madrid have stepped up their efforts to sign the 20-year-old former Juventus starlet and have held fresh talks with his camp.
In fact, the report states that Los Blancos are prepared to offer Huijsen a ‘significantly higher’ fixed salary to move ahead of Chelsea, who are still not giving up on the Bournemouth youngster.
Arsenal and Liverpool still remain in the picture, too, but Real Madrid are moving quickly to ensure that Huijsen ends up leaving the Premier League and are confident of taking him to the Santiago Bernabeu.
There has been speculation that Real Madrid want to have Huijsen in the squad for the FIFA Club World Cup in the USA next month.
Given the injury crisis in defence, having him would be a huge boost. But only time will tell if they are able to close the deal on his signing by then.
