Real Madrid Are Targeting Three Pre-Club World Cup Signings
Real Madrid’s aggressive attempt to complete the acquisition of Trent Alexander-Arnold was quite notable this month.
The Spanish giants have not only tried to confirm the purchase of the English international as soon as possible, but they have also tried to reach an agreement in which the player would be able to play for the club in the upcoming FIFA Club World Cup.
Real Madrid want three players before FIFA CWC
In fact, Real Madrid’s urgency in the Alexander-Arnold deal signify a broader objective for the club, which is to reinforce the team as much as possible before the FIFA Club World Cup starts.
This is according to El Chiringuito, which suggests Real Madrid may sign as many as three players before the tournament.
Alexander-Arnold is going to be the first of Real Madrid’s three big signings. But other than him, the club are gunning for a new centre-back and a new left-back.
Real Madrid have already been linked with moves for William Saliba and Ibrahima Konate. But getting their hands on the Premier League duo could prove to be difficult, especially before the FIFA Club World Cup.
Not to mention, the likes of Saliba and Dean Huijsen could prove to be expensive, which does not go hand in hand with the kind of profile the club are looking for.
As far as the left-back position is concerned, there are no shortage of options available in the market, with the club reportedly scouting SL Benfica’s Alvaro Carreras.
Chelsea starlet Jorrel Hato has also emerged as a target for Los Blancos, though both players could prove to be expensive and unattainable before the FIFA Club World Cup.
It must be remembered that the FIFA CWC starts around mid-June, two weeks before the player contracts in Europe traditionally expires.
Therefore, it will be interesting to see just how exactly Real Madrid manage to pull off three big signings before the start of the tournament.
