Atletico Madrid Plot €30 million Offer for Torres
Barcelona forward Ferran Torres is enjoying the best season of his career so far, having racked up 19 goals and four assists from 44 games in all competitions.
Despite his valuable contributions, the 25-year-old attacker is not a regular starter for the Catalans, with Robert Lewandowski, Lamine Yamal, and Raphinha well ahead of him in the pecking order.
Atletico Madrid plot move for Ferran Torres
Now, according to reports from Fichajes, Atletico Madrid are hoping to capitalise on the situation by launching a move for Ferran Torres in the summer transfer window.
Indeed, Los Rojiblancos have set their sights on the Spanish international as a key signing for next season and are already preparing a €30 million offer to acquire him from Barcelona.
With plans to reshape their attacking line, Atletico Madrid have identified the 25-year-old Spaniard as a major reinforcement for Diego Simeone’s next project.
The move is seen not only as a tactical necessity but also as a market opportunity by the Spanish capital club.
Within Atletico, there is a belief that Ferran, at this stage of his career, offers the maturity and versatility needed to strengthen the attack – capable of playing both on the wings and through the middle.
Ferran has delivered in crucial moments for Barcelona this season and emerged as a key player at times, leading to speculations about a potential contract extension.
However, at the same time, the competition for places and the financial constraints facing the Catalan side could open the doors for the attacker’s departure in the summer.
Ferran, for his part, has always remained committed to succeeding at Barcelona and is unlikely to angle for a departure. So, it remains to be seen how the situation evolves in the coming months as Atletico weigh up a move for the ex-Manchester City man.
