Yamal Names His Favourite Players Outside Barca
In a landmark achievement for Lamine Yamal, the young Barcelona forward has joined Lionel Messi and Erling Haaland as ambassadors for Apple-owned headphones brand Beats by Dre.
After the endorsement was confirmed by Beats by Dre, Yamal was involved in a small Q&A interaction, where he talked about his music choices to his favourite player outside of Barcelona.
Yamal also talked about El Clasico and what it is like facing Real Madrid. Talking about his favourite El Clasico moment, Yamal didn’t hesitate to point to the Copa Del Rey final this season.
Yamal wants to play in Anfield
“There are many historic moments, but since I’m starting to be part of them now, I’d say the recent Copa del Rey final. The way the game went, and the fact that we won in the end,” Yamal said (h/t Daily Mail).
The Spaniard was then asked to choose between winning the World Cup with Spain and winning the Champions League with Barcelona.
“I can’t choose. Every time I play, I do it to compete at the highest level and to win. So I’ll say: all of them,” he replied.
Talking about his favourite stadium in football, the Barcelona forward mentioned Old Trafford and Anfield as stadiums he would like to play in.
“There are many stadiums I haven’t experienced yet, especially outside Europe. In Europe, some of the legendary stadiums I would love to play in are Old Trafford and Anfield,” he said.
The forward also talked about his favourite player outside of Barcelona, adding, “At the moment, I think Ousmane Dembele or Bukayo Saka are performing very well.”
Yamal on NBA, Eminem and more
Football, though, is not the only sport he follows, as the forward is also a fan of basketball.
“I would say the NBA, and of course, I love watching LeBron James,” he said when asked about the non-football leagues he follows.
Talking about his pre-game ritual with Beats by Dre, Yamal said, “They accompany me on all my trips. I often use them to access my inner world; they help me focus.
“On planes, on buses, on the way to the stadium, while inspecting the pitch—my Beats headphones are always with me.”
Finally, Yamal offered a glimpse into his playlist, revealing that he likes Eminem and 50 Cent while also having a thing for Afrobeats.
“It depends on the day. I always change rhythms and artists. I usually listen to rap, trap, and Afrobeats. Classic rappers like 50 Cent and Eminem get me into a pre-game groove. I put on my Beats headphones, crank up the volume, and get into it,” he concluded.
