Juventus Chop For Victor Osimhen’s Alternative
While Juventus continue to dream of a summer transfer for Napoli-owned Victor Osimhen, outlets in Italy believe that there are four alternative options the Bianconeri should consider ahead of the upcoming transfer window.
Juventus are looking to revamp their attacking department in the summer transfer window, with Dusan Vlahovic and Randal Kolo Muani both in line to leave at the end of the 2024-25 season.
Osimhen, currently on loan at Galatasaray from Napoli, is the first-choice centre-forward for the Old Lady, but given his €75m price tag, and the fact that there are a number of clubs in Europe and Asia pushing for his signature, Juventus may need to look elsewhere.
Recent reports also suggest that Atalanta’s Mateo Retegui and Ipswich Town centre-forward Liam Delap are also among the potential options.
However, Tuttosport claimed that there are four other alternative options that Juventus should consider ahead of the summer transfer window.
Among them is Osimhen’s Nigeria international colleague Victor Boniface with claims that Bianconeri sporting director Cristiano Giuntoli has already been monitoring the Bayer Leverkusen striker for several months.
Another Bundesliga option comes in the form of RB Leipzig striker Lois Openda, who scored 29 goals and registered seven assists last season. He is not expected to come cheaply either, though, given that Leipzig spent €40m to bring him over from Lens in the summer of 2023.
Georgia international Goerges Mikautadze could also be an alternative option up top for Juventus according to Friday’s reports. The 24-year-old has 16 goals and 11 assists this term, and could potentially be available for a significantly lower transfer fee in the region of €25m.
23-year-old Rennes striker Arnaud Kalimuendo could also be an option for Juventus.
