Manchester City have a chance to forge an advantage on their Premier League rivals in the race for Champions League football as they are in action on Friday night.
Pep Guardiola’s star-studded squad host Wolves in the 8pm kick-off. The match gives City an opportunity to get points on the board before the other teams in the race for the top-five positions are in action over the weekend.
City currently sit in fourth place in the table, one point ahead of Chelsea in fifth and Nottingham Forest in sixth position. A win over Wolves would take City back into third place above Newcastle United – who are one point ahead – and to within three points of second-placed Arsenal.
However, they face a significant challenge with Wolves moving away from the bottom of the table recently having claimed six wins in a row for the first time in the Premier League. In their last outing Vitor Pereira’s men came out as 3-0 winners over Leicester City, moving them above Manchester United and into 13th place in the table.
