Former Flying Eagles striker Suleiman Abdullahi has officially parted ways with Swedish club IFK Göteborg following a mutual contract termination.
Abdullahi, who faced recurring injury challenges, struggled to find his best form during his stint at the club. The club’s sporting director, Hannes Stiller, spoke highly of the forward despite the challenges.
“Sulle has struggled despite several lingering injuries. Neither he nor we feel that we got the most out of each other, but we part as very good friends. Sulle is a nice guy who we wish success in his next club,” Stiller said via the club’s official website.
The 28-year-old joined IFK Göteborg from Bundesliga side Union Berlin in 2022, making 30 appearances and scoring one goal. Abdullahi has also previously played for Norwegian club Viking FK and German side Eintracht Braunschweig.
