NPFL: Rangers At Bayelsa To Douse The Coastal City’s Boys Fire

 

 

The Samson Yebowei Siasia Stadium, Yenagoa, Bayelsa State will be the action spot as the reigning NPFL champions, Rangers International FC storm the coastal city to fire up to achieve a positive result in a match day 23, NPFL 2024/2025 fixture against the hosts, Bayelsa United FC who are also enjoying some rich vein of form in the past few weeks.

Coach Fidelis Ilechukwu’ wards are optimistic going into this fixture after overcoming high-scoring, Ikorodu City FC in a re-arranged Monday’ fixture at ‘The Cathedral’, Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium, Enugu.

Coach Ilechukwu who is also an assistant coach with Nigeria’ senior male team, Super Eagles, said that the long time he had with his team after the win over Ikorodu City will go a long way in helping them get the positive result they are targeting in Yenagoa against the coach Ladan Bosso tutored side on Sunday, February 9, 2025.

“I thank God for having a long time to prepare and we are positive in what we can achieve going forward. My discussion with the players for the possibility of doing another eleven-match unbeaten was positive. We have a lot of confidence going into our remaining matches in the season though, I must confess that it will be a tough task edging out the current front-runners,” said the young tactician.

Going down memory lane, Rangers enjoys an edge over the host going into tomorrow’ encounter with six wins to its credit while the home side, Bayelsa United has four victories while seven encounters have ended in a draw in their last seventeen encounters.

On current form, Rangers parades two wins and three losses in its last five encounters while Bayelsa United boasts of a win, a draw and three losses in the ongoing NPFL season just as the ‘Flying Antelopes’ occupy the 5th spot on the log with 34 points from 22 matches, Bayelsa United are on the 15th position with 28 points from 22 matches.
