Taye Taiwo Returns To French Ligue 1 Marseille

Former Super Eagles left-back, Taye Taiwo has been inducted into French Ligue club, Marseille‘s Hall of Fame.

‎Taye Taiwo, the Nigerian left-back, had a memorable stint with French giants Olympique de Marseille from 2005 to 2011.

During his six-year tenure, Taiwo established himself as a key player for the club, making 192 appearances and scoring 17 goals.

‎Taiwo’s time at Marseille was marked by several highlights, including winning the Ligue 1 title in the 2009-2010 season and the Coupe de la Ligue in 2010 and 2011.

‎He was an integral part of the team that finished as runners-up in the 2006-2007 and 2008-2009 seasons.

‎The Nigerian defender was known for his defensive and attacking prowess, delivering pinpoint accurate crosses and set pieces, which often led to goals for his teammates.

‎His defensive skills were also commendable, as he formed a solid partnership with other defenders to provide stability at the back.

‎He was an important player for the club during his time there, and the Marseille faithful will always remember his contributions.
