EXPOSED: The Sad Truth About Marcus Rashford’s Exit From Man United

Marcus Rashford has signed for Aston Villa, bringing an 20 year association with boyhood club, Manchester United, to and end.

Ruben Amorim sent Rashford a message as it became clearer that the England international would be leaving the Red Devils.

Rashford wanted out of Old Trafford so badly that he took matters into his own hands at one stage.

Marcus Rashford won’t return to Man United

Although his move to Villa Park is only a loan deal at this stage, there’s every chance it will be made permanent.

Even if things don’t work out under Unai Emery, there’s little chance of him returning to the Theatre of Dreams.

According to The Guardian (subscription required), even if Amorim is sacked by INEOS at the end of the season, Rashford’s relationship with the club is said to be almost irreparable.

For a player that joined the club as a seven-year-old and made his way right up to the first team, becoming something of a poster boy for academy graduates in the process, it’s an incredibly sad end to his time at the club.

Villa move needed for Marcus Rashford
Given how things ended too, a change was somewhat inevitable, and depending on your point of view, Amorim was only doing something that should’ve been done some time ago or the new man in charge was using Rashford as a scapegoat to make the point that no player was safe if they didn’t toe the line.

After the terrible Erik ten Hag era, it was clear that Amorim was being brought in as a progressive coach that would take United to the next level.

To say that he’s fallen short of that thus far is a gross understatement.

They’ve been awful in a number of games, and INEOS really need to hold their nerve for the next 12-18 months if they intend on sticking with Amorim and allowing him the time to develop his style with his own set of players.
