Niger Tornadoes coach Mohammed disappointed after Nasarawa United defeat

Niger Tornadoes head coach Majin Mohammed has expressed disappointment following his team’s 2-0 loss to Nasarawa United at the Lafia City Stadium on Sunday.

Despite being favorites going into the away match, the Ikon Allah Boys were caught off guard by a determined Nasarawa United side, who dominated the contest.

Speaking to the media after the game, Mohammed admitted his players were below their usual standard.

“I am really surprised that my boys weren’t at their best today. Perhaps, they underrated Nasarawa United,” Mohammed said.

He acknowledged the hosts’ determination, saying, “The outcome of the game today shows that Nasarawa United needed the points more than we did, reason they came out smoking from the blast of the whistle, which put us under intense pressure.”

Reflecting on the turning point of the match, Mohammed added, “We conceded an early goal, and before we knew it, it was already difficult to get along as the game progressed.”
