Cranes of Uganda head coach Paul Put is eager to face the Super Eagles at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).
The East African side will compete in Group C alongside three-time champions Nigeria, the Carthage Eagles of Tunisia, and the Taifa Stars of Tanzania.
Put acknowledged the strength of their group opponents while emphasizing the importance of confidence on the field.
“There are no easy games in Africa. We are going to face Nigeria, the last edition’s finalists, and Tunisia, a team that consistently reaches the latter stages of this tournament,” he said following the draw ceremony.
“Tanzania adds the derby element, which is always intense. However, we must believe in ourselves.”
Uganda will begin their AFCON campaign in Morocco against Tunisia on Monday, December 23. They will then face Tanzania in an East Africa derby before wrapping up their group stage matches against Nigeria on Tuesday, December 30.
