Super Eagles defender Ola Aina celebrated teammate Callum Hudson-Odoi’s 24th birthday in a playful manner by gifting him a crate of eggs.
The two African-born players shared a fun moment, with Aina fulfilling his playful promise in a way that made Hudson-Odoi’s birthday truly memorable.
Aina had previously teased Hudson-Odoi in a video circulating on social media, jokingly vowing to gift him “1,000 eggs” as a reward for his match-winning goal against Liverpool.
Hudson-Odoi’s decisive goal, a powerful mid-range strike, followed a precise pass from Swedish forward Anthony Elanga, igniting a swift counterattack that led to a thrilling finish and sent Nottingham Forest fans into celebration.
In a now-viral video, Aina and Elanga were seen handing over the eggs to a slightly camera-shy Hudson-Odoi, playfully bringing the promise to life.
Speaking with BBC Africa after the video gained traction, Aina explained the inside joke, revealing Hudson-Odoi’s love for boiled eggs.

“It’s just a little changing-room joke,” he said. “Callum really loves boiled eggs. He loves eggs in general but boiled eggs are one of his favourites! It makes it funnier because Ghanaians are known for their love of eggs, so seeing him eat them every day, we just mock him a little bit.”
With Aina and Hudson-Odoi’s contributions, Nottingham Forest has enjoyed a strong Premier League season, currently sitting in third place as their impressive performances continue to shine.
