Olympics qualifier: Sports Minister demands better performance from Super Falcons
The Minister of Sports Development, John Owan Enoh, has urged the Super Falcons of Nigeria to do better when they face South Africa in the return leg of their 2024 Olympic Games final qualifying round tie.
The Super Falcons defeated the Bayana Bayana 1-0 in first leg of their 2024 Olympic Games final qualifying round tie in Abuja on Friday evening.
Captain Rasheedat Ajibade scored the only goal of the match to give Nigeria a slim victory over South Africa.
The Super Falcons created better chances in the early stages but failed to put any into the net.
Randy Waldrum’s side will now face South Africa in the second leg in Pretoria next Tuesday.
Reacting, Enoh, in a tweet on his X account after the game, also congratulated the Super Falcons.
“Congratulations, Super Falcons of Nigeria. Let’s do even better in South Africa and pick the ticket for Paris Olympics,” he tweeted.
“To the supporters who came out to watch and cheer the Falcons, thank you.”
