‘He’s wrong’ – Parejo criticises Vinicius’ attitude towards racism

Villarreal midfielder Dani Parejo has made controversial remarks about Real Madrid winger, Vinicius Junior’s response to the ongoing racism debate in La Liga.

While Vinicius had poured his heart out concerning the heinous racist abuse he had faced in Spain, Parejo questioned his attitude and his reaction towards fans who have targeted him with such racist slurs.

According to Parejo, such gestures from the Brazilian are unnecessary, and footballers should stay above that.

The Spaniard then used his personal experiences, stating that he has faced similar insults in stadiums but never reacted to them.

“Vinicius attitude? I have gone to stadiums where they called me drunk and things but I don’t go to face them, nor do I make gestures,” Parejo said (via Madrid Zone).

“I think that is unnecessary. The footballer must be above that. He is wrong.”
